Is your day to day environment industrial? If so, you’ve probably heard of a 30 ton hydraulic press. A hydraulic press is used for a multitude of applications and operations. These include clinching, moulding, blanking, punching, deep drawing, and metal forming. The reason it is so commonly used is due to its versatility. As well as, its ability to suit a wide variety of needs within most workshops, factories, schools, and garages. At Workshop Press Company, we have many hydraulic presses for sale and our 30 ton press is a great choice.

So, How Does A Hydraulic Press Work?

A hydraulic press uses a large hydraulic cylinder which contains a Ram or otherwise called the piston rod. The cylinder contains hydraulic fluid which is not easily compressed, making it the ideal substance for use in a hydraulic press.

For the process to work, pressure is applied to the piston. This, as a result, compresses the hydraulic fluid, converting fluid pressure and flow to force and velocity respectively. This, in turn, causes the ram to extend outward no matter what orientation it is mounted in. The pressure created behind the ram is then used to crush the material (i.e. metal).

30 Ton Hydraulic Press – The Benefits

Workshop hydraulic presses have many benefits. Especially, our hydraulic range for sale such as the 30 ton hydraulic press. This is due to the way they operate, which is very simple. Here are just a few benefits of a workshop press:

  • Cost Saving.
Generally, a hydraulic press is much cheaper than a mechanical press, due to the simplicity of its design. You will not only save money in upfront costs, but also in the maintenance, breakdown fees and part. Hydraulic presses are notoriously reliable and they rarely break. However, when something does break, parts are readily available from industrial and hydraulic supply outlets, as well as from Workshoppress.co.uk. Due to the simplicity of hydraulic presses, components are easy to replace.
  • Overload Protection.
30 ton hydraulic press will only exert 30 tons of pressure. A pressure manometer constantly displays the pressure being exerted by the press which enables the operator to have precise control of the press and leaving little room for error and enhances accuracy.
  • It’s Quiet.
The simplicity of a hydraulic press is one of its biggest qualities. Because it doesn’t have many moving parts it is much quieter while in use than other types of press. A hydraulic press gives you complete control, even when it comes to the level of the noise.
